Our partnership with national charity Music for All means we can announce that award winning harmonica player Liam Ward is to host an “Introduction to Blues Harmonica” workshop at Y Pentan, Mold on Sunday 5th August at 10am.
Liam is a winner of the National Harmonica League Player of the Year, and fronts his own band, The Liam Ward Band, as well as playing with the Rumblestrutters and The Jake Leg Jug Band among others.
An experienced teacher, Liam gives harmonica masterclasses at the National Harmonica League festival and many blues and jazz events, and is a regular contributor to Blues Matters, Harmonica World, and Blues in Britain.
The workshop is just £4 for adults and free for under 16s, including a free harmonica!
Y Pentan has been an avid supporter of the Festival since 2014, hosting live bands on all 3 nights of the event. Landlord Tim Davies said, “I am really looking forward to the harmonica workshop, we promote live music all year round so we’re always happy to support the Blues & Soul Festival”
Participating under 16s will also gain free admission to the Festival on Sunday 5th August (when accompanied by a paying adult) where they can see Liam Ward on the main stage.
Under 16s must also be accompanied by an adult for entry to the Harmonica Workshop. Non-participating adults accompanying under 16s are also free of charge.
Anyone interested in attending can register from 9am on Sunday 5th August at Y Pentan, 1-3 New Street, Mold CH7 1NY
